Tier One Celebrates the First-ever, Nationwide Energy Efficiency Day
Posted By Sarah Mees on October 04, 2016
Tier One is pleased to support the inaugural Energy Efficiency Day — a collaborative effort of regional and national organizations working to promote energy efficiency, including the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), Advanced Energy Economy, the Regional Energy Efficiency Organizations, Appliance Standards Awareness Project, E4TheFuture, Natural Resources Defense Council, Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) and many others. It’s an ambitious effort, to be sure, but also so well planned that we want to give our ‘props’ to the teams responsible for making it happen.
Did you know that U.S. businesses could save $40 billion on energy by improving the efficiency of all commercial buildings and industry by just 10%?
Or that in 2015 alone, carbon pollution was reduced by 490 million tons thanks to energy electric efficiency?
Did you know that energy efficiency gains have averted the need to build 313 large power plants since 1990? And that this is equal to three times the coal plant capacity of Germany, or nearly half of the existing coal plant capacity in the U.S. as of 2012?
We didn’t know these particular statistics either, but the team behind Energy Efficiency Day neatly compiled these (and many, many more) targeting key stakeholder audiences from businesses to utilities to transportation about important energy efficiency topics including climate change and energy equity. In addition, the team provided logos, hashtags, images and social media posts – essentially everything any organization would need to easily promote Energy Efficiency Day (#EEDay2016) and become part of the movement. Well done.
Tier One works with many different companies that are doing their part to help transform our energy economy, both as energy technology providers and consumers of energy. We are passionate about new energy technologies and sustainability efforts, and we understand how to build awareness and market opportunities in this sometimes —challenging sector.
So join us in celebrating #EEDay2016 by helping us spread awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency as broadly as possible. Use the hashtag to share your successes with energy efficiency, and to salute the efforts of other companies and organizations that share our commitment to energy efficiency. And remember, the best way to save energy (and therefore $$$) is to NOT use it in the first place.
