t1_anniversary_features

As part of our 15th Anniversary celebration, we are honoring our fantastic team members by supporting the causes that are dear to them. On the 15th of each month (Feb.’18 - Dec.‘18) we will spotlight a team member and hope to raise a little extra awareness and support for their cause. Here’s to the next 15! #TOP15

Colleen Irish

Senior Account Director

It is a delight to have Colleen on the Tier One team because...

In addition to her brilliant execution of results-focused media plans, Colleen is simply one of the kindest and most genuine people we’ve ever known. She instills a sense of camaraderie and all-for-one attitude in her teams and the Tier One Boston office as a whole. We’re all proud of the commitment she makes to our professional community, her family, and to the causes to which she is close. Colleen attributes her commitment to helping others (especially those in need) to her father, who was actively involved in community work throughout her childhood. Clearly, she’s a chip off the old block.

Colleen has worked out of the Tier One Boston office for seven years, but...

She hails from dairy farmlands in upstate New York. Colleen grew up participating in 4-H horse shows and even dabbled in barrel racing! She considered turning her huge love of animals into a veterinary career, but discovered her love of writing in college and followed the path of communications study to public relations.

Colleen is a passionate supporter of...

The Autism Society of America and its annual National Autism Acceptance Month. During the month of April, the Autism Society promotes awareness and acceptance of all folks on the Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as raising funds for those who need financial support to access the amazing resources available today.

ASD is a complex developmental disability; signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person’s ability to communicate and interact with others. ASD is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a “spectrum condition” that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees. There is no known single cause of autism, but increased awareness and early diagnosis/intervention and access to appropriate services/supports lead to significantly improved outcomes. Children do not outgrow autism, but studies show early diagnosis and intervention lead to significantly improved outcomes.

Colleen has two nephews who fall under the autism spectrum and has seen up close the tremendous dedication of her brother and sister-in-law in raising the boys with love and care. She considers them and other parents of children with ASD to be heroes, deserving of all the support we can give them.

Colleen hopes that by embracing opportunities like Autism Awareness Month…
We can help people better appreciate and understand the challenges facing people afflicted with ASD. There are many exceptional, specialized professionals and schools that help children to develop and lead fulfilling lives — but these resources are expensive. By donating even a small amount to the Autism Society of America, we can make a big difference.

Tier One supported the cause by...
Making a donation to the Autism Society of America to fund resources those with ASD need in order to live their best possible lives.
